All cars need repairs and maintenance from time to time, even high-end luxury European cars. Some European car repair issues, such as general maintenance and replacing parts designed to wear out, are simple enough for any repair technicians. Some, however, are more complex and may require a repair center that specializes in European car repair.
Many auto dealers have their own service and car repair centers on site, although this is more the case for dealers that sell high volumes of average-price cars instead of a small number of very expensive cars. If the European auto dealer where you purchased your car has a service center, that would be an excellent choice for your European car repair. If the dealership does not have its own service center, then someone there will be able to recommend a trusted place that specializes in European car repair.
Luxury German cars such as BMWs, Mercedes and Porsches are very common in the United States, as are economical vehicles like Volkswagens. Even routine repairs to German cars will require German parts that local service centers may not have access to. Even larger regional and national chain centers may not stock the parts needed for German car repair. Many German car repair specialists can also handle collision and body work in case of an accident, along with any mechanical work you will need.
The majority of the Italian cars in America are very rare high-performance vehicles such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis. If you own one of these you will definitely need a service center that specializes in Italian car repair. Since Germany also produces several high-end luxury cars, you can often find service centers that specialize in all luxury European car repairs, as opposed to only German car repair or Italian car repair.
Sweden, England, France and several other European countries also produce automobiles that are bought and driven in the U.S. Like all the other European cars, these also need to be serviced by mechanics that are certified in European car repair.
With European cars, some basic maintenance can be handled by a local service center, but most repairs will require a European car repair specialist. This is especially true for major car repairs or anything involving a high-end luxury European car.
